The house is just starting to fill with the loveliest smell.
I put a beef and guinness stew in the oven to slow roast the day away.
Here is the recipe should you like to make your own.
Beef and Guinness Stew
1kg diced stewing beef
2 small onions
2 - 4 medium potatoes (King Edwards are lovely)
2 cans of original Guinness
1/2 cup flour
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp mixed herbs
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 oxo beef stock cube or 1/2 cup beef stock
1 bay leaf
salt to taste
1. Roll the diced beef in the flour, and brown in a hot pan.
2. Then add all remaining ingredients and pour into a deep casserole pot or slow cooker.
3. Cook at 140F for 6-8 hours.
4. Serve with fresh sourdough
Daddy Dragon endorses this stew. The long cooking time makes the meat very tender, and the Guinness gives it flavour.
