About us

We are a hard working, family of eight. Swimming in the sea when we aren't busy on our small holding. Daddy dragon has to work away a lot, so this blog is to let him keep up with our adventures at home.

Happy Easter!

This year, I got the idea in my head that I would make all our easter eggs myself. So, there have been too many hours spent up to my elbows in chocolate, a dozen cracked eggs, and I have found that I have made enough chocolate eggs for not just my five hatchlings, but enough for all the children on our island to over dose on chocolate.

I filled various eggs with small plastic dinosaurs, flower rings, and other treats. Then I made a huge batch of turtles.

Have I mentioned the quantity of chocolate that I have eaten...

I think I am in serious need of some exercise!

We made easter cookies too, as if there wasn't enough sugar being ingested.

(Our roast dinner was quickly devoured, so at least everyone has a tummy full of protein and veg.)

Daddy dragon decided his boys needed hair cuts.

They were pretty shaggy.

This little guy was not certain about his new spikey do. He is coming around to the idea.

Two matching little boys!

It is lovely to see him not pushing hair out of his face.

He loves hats.

This hatchling.

He is often picking up his sisters and big brother's hats and wearing them around the house.

Who can blame him, he wears them well.

We set a new batch of eggs in the incubator.

Sussexes, Orphingtons and Arucanas have hatched in time for Easter.

Apologies for the long delay in posting.

A lot has been going on.

I had a post planned, which was meant to feature photos from my lovely Nikon D3200, but my cord has gone missing!

Hopefully, I can find it and post those photos tomorrow. Then I can tell you more about our upcoming adventures!

Happy Easter, I hope you have had an excellent day!

TGIF

It has been a hard week over here. Lots of work, and not a lot of play.

Especially, as the island has been hit by a really awful sickness bug, and we managed to catch it.

So, as it is Friday and we survived the week, chocolate cake was in order.

Sometimes, nothing but a heavy handed dose of chocolate will fix a blue day.

And while some small hatchlings are a little frayed around the edges,

the cake seems to have done the trick.

Still exhausted, but morale is just a little better.

Happy Friday!

Happy 3rd birthday!

To the most huggable,

train obsessed,

hatchling that I have ever

had the joy of knowing.

Thank you for 3 amazing years!

I sincerely hope this year is even more fun then all those that have come before.

Hand prints and flowers make me happy

We decided it was time to make a start on our spring wall.

Lots of flowers,

and little hand prints,

happiness all over our wall.

It's been a hectic week...

via @[372843136091545:274:Expanded Consciousness]

and we are almost on the other side of the challenges that we face today.

Once I come up for air, I must update with the adventures we are having.

With one week until my deadline, I'm writing like a mad woman, and my focus is on chocolate and coffee.

Those are sacred, it is known.

And I wish to thank my patient, and even the less patient hatchlings, for their support during this busy time.

A whole lot of ipad time has been going on over here, I tell ya.

I sincerely wish you the happiest of weekends.

Pocahontas

Pocahontas Picture Number 10

One of those joys of having children.

Sharing old movies with them.

Seeing the world through their eyes, as they express their every thought.

Today, we watched Pocahontas.

My hatchlings watched a completely different movie to the one I saw as a child.

I remembered it for pro - earth happy music, cute animal characters, and a love triumphs diversity type theme.

My hatchlings called it a tragedy.

Seriously, a tragedy.

Hatchling quotes:

'Wow, she just killed someone who loved her for a bunch of bad guys. Why did she do that, Mama?'

'Do you think her choices were justified in the end?'

'What do you think we should do if one of the boy hatchlings wants to marry a girl like Pocahontas?'

'Why did she think her dreams would be over if she got married. Does marriage break your dreams Mama?'

I shall think more carefully before choosing the next movie, that is for sure.
