About us

We are a hard working, family of eight. Swimming in the sea when we aren't busy on our small holding. Daddy dragon has to work away a lot, so this blog is to let him keep up with our adventures at home.

Long awaited summer day

A beautiful new beach to explore.

I do love how clear

and clean the water is.

This hatchling came prepared.

He and daddydragon went off to hunt in the rock pools,

while other hatchlings enjoyed the sand.

This hatchling is getting so big.

He says, 'Look!'

'All nine shells. Me shells!'

And so began the hatchling sand covering.

While this hatchling made sand angels.

She is getting pretty big too. Sniff.

A happy hatchling,

and a beautiful day!

Today I am very thankful for all the blessings in my life.

Ring of Brodgar

DaddyDragon came home for a much needed visit.

We took advantage of some nicer weather and headed out to the Ring of Brodgar.

We've certainly been here long enough, without having paid it a visit.

We walked through a field of these fluffs, like little cotton tails dancing in the wind.

Along a wooden bridge,

up to the standing stones.

It is really beautiful, high up on what must have been just a little peninsula, before the lochs were established.

Those who built the circle took care to bring stone from many different islands around Orkney.

That can't have been easy.

This guy's help is not necessarily appreciated by his younger brother.

What a lovely day, - all be it not the gorgeous weather, I have been hoping for -

in a lovely place to be.

July?

How is it even possible it is July?

The weather has been terrible, the chores, far far too many.

Have I mentioned the bad weather?

There has been a lot of ipad time round here.

Best presents ever.

And see this guy.

See that face.

He saw an antique car and in his enthusiasm to get right up close,

he ran right into it.

He just kind of slid down the hub cap, on his face.

Boy loves his cars...

A little piece of heaven

My book is now done and I have a little bit of time to take a deep breath, before jumping into another project.

There was never going to be a better time,

To go off and explore.

A few wrong turns,

but at last we found

exactly what we had been hoping to find.

A new woodland!

Oh, how we had missed the hundred acre wood.

Now, we have a new place to build memories

of fairy games,

pooh sticks,

and

hide and seek.

This beautiful little piece of heaven.

The weather today was exquisite.

The sun shone

with only a whisper of wind,

and so we stayed and played

for hours on end.

Not a productive day in a working sense.

Just a hard earned day of enjoyment.

I think we shall have to venture back soon.

And for any one in my area, who hasn't found this place

take a left at the crossroads to the stones of Stenness, instead of a right,

and head for the trees.

Happy Friday!

A cute day

Today, we have been blessed with a day abundant in cute.

Campbell ducklings are so much smaller than our Aylesburys were.

The hatchlings threw the ducklings a birthday party.

All the animals had to come dressed in their best.

(Puss is still refusing to come out from under the bed in his frilly knickers.)

Welcome to the world ducklings!

What we are listening to today.

I have like days until my fourth book is due back at the publishers...

Days.

And did I mention, all that accident stuff, took like a 30%, coughs 50%, bite out of the writing time I needed.

This week, I need to be unbeatable, because I am running beside a speeding train that is my deadline.

I am looking forward to being done.

So, I can kick back and just watch our children run.

Wishing everyone a very productive week.
