About us

Dust if you must

Dust if you must, but wouldn't it be better
To paint a picture, or write a letter,
Bake a cake, or plant a seed;
Ponder the difference between want and need?

Dust if you must, but there's not much time,
With rivers to swim, and mountains to climb;
Music to hear, and books to read;
Friends to cherish, and life to lead.

Dust if you must, but the world's out there
With sun in your eyes, and wind in your hair;
A flutter of snow, a shower of rain,
This day will not come around again.

Dust if you must, but bear in mind,
Old age will come and its not kind.
And when you go (and go you must)
You, yourself, will make more dust.

A short video

A lovely video to be sure, but I feel they missed a lot more. Not that a place could be summarised so easily in three minutes. Nonetheless, very cool to see so many familiar faces.

A beautiful day

It has been a long month already, long week, long days.

With a quiet Thursday and nothing but sunshine on the menu, this water looked perfect.

The children have become slightly stir crazy with the repetitive rain.

The tide is coming in, but we have an couple hours of sand left.

Thistles growing up amongst the rocks.

They must be salt hardy.

This fast growing hatchling is so much happier on the beach with water shoes.

This hatchling went off to find more shells for her collection.

While he made sand sculptures,

and this hatchling tested my nerves

trying to go out 'the deepest'.

Soft fluffy rainless clouds.

The hatchings no longer have any qualms about seaweed. Once upon a time they were terrified of stepping on it. Now, they pretend it is mermaid's hair.

Then home again for ice cream.

'Catch my cheeses,' he says.

The littlest hatchling is now big enough

that she runs about with the others.

How fast did that go?

She's still a little dolly.

She believes she is as big as big can be.

She takes for granted being surrounded by adoring fans.

Which is exactly how it should be.

Who needs horse power?

She has a five hatchling powered tractor.

Happy Thursday.

A beautiful morning

We awoke to the most glorious summer's day.

Hence, we went out in search of sand.

This angry bird obsessed boy,

spent a great deal of time burying the above angry bird.

Thankfully, we manage to uncover it each time.

So much energy, his feet hardly touch the ground.

The water was warm today.

The girls were in and out, dodging jellies.

They have gotten pretty good about keeping an eye out for them.

This hatchling built sand mound after sand mound.

Look, there's home!

He buried my feet,

and zoomed about the beach.

Dare I try to remove those welly boots, now filled with water?

When all were tired, we returned home,

for ice cream to recharge the batteries

before playing out front.

Happy Sunday!
