A gift

I've been bit pre - occupied as of late.

Though it has not all been unproductive.

One of my latests projects, has been this star blanket.

A gift for a friend's new baby.

A new life, a new beginning, an easy celebration, regardless of how much stuff weighs down my to do list.

Wishing you an easy Monday and a gentle week ahead.

Crochet Doll clothes by Hatchling no2

Hatchling no2 has been busy.

She started off with an accidentally made skirt.

Then carried on until all her dolls were kitted out.

Now, the doll's wardrobe is bursting with new garments to wear,

So she turned her eye to making soft toys.

This is her first, it was intended as a cat.

She doesn't follow a pattern, but  am sorely tempted to set her up her own blog and help her start writing her patterns.

I am very proud of your hard work, Hatchling no2, I hope you are too.

Happy 9th Birthday Hatchling no2

You are creative and funny, witty and clever.

You love elephants, all animals actually, and you are a fabulous big sister.

You bring us all so much joy.

I really hope you have a wonderful ninth year; however, rain or shine, I do so look forward to spending it with you.

Me too!

This little boy, this sweet little fellow, joins me when I knit.

He likes to play about with a ball, and knot it into a thousand knots.

Today, he asked me to show him how to crochet.

Which is not an easy feat, with a left handed, wriggly monkey.

The first few tries were unsuccessful, but he persevered.

For 'Ray - ya', a snake and a balloon.

Her birthday is in two days, and his first creations will go to her.

We are blessed.

Little bit of fresh air

The wind has blown and pelted us with hail for days,

and this particular hatchling wakes up each day and asks to go outside.

Finally, we had a break in the weather.

Out we went.

It was wet and windy,

but it was a much needed dose of outside.

They learn so quickly

I recall our first set of ipads; how nervous I initially felt.

They were new and shiny; I assumed would be as difficult to use as computers were back in the 90's.

I was wrong.

Our family and everyone else adapted, and we have found them incredibly easy to use.

I can hardly believe how quickly the hatchlings learn to use these computers.

It amazes me, she knows she needs to keep her hands off the screen and poke with a single finger. She plays games, colouring sheets and flips through audio books.

I am impressed, hatchlings of the future are leaps and bounds ahead of where we were.
