This hatchling wanted a pirate party.
To his great joy, the rec centre set him up a pirate ship.
The day went past,
in a blur.
I should have brought my nikon,
but incorrectly thought my phone would do.
The shutter speed
just was not up to the task.
Bear with my terrible photos.
This little lady,
tried hard to keep up.
There was so much
in the gymnasium
and a whole lot of
We don't do birthday parties as a routine,
we try to scatter a couple between them all,
And it is was lovely,
that all children from 11 years down to not quite one,

'A storm is coming.' When a local makes such a statement,
all that is required is to look up for verification of wind direction.
Storms blow in and out, not overstaying their welcome.
We wake to eye watering sunrises.
After sleeping beneath beautiful moons.
While we watch and wait for spring's return.
It isn't about the presents,
but it is one of the few moments
when you slow down and hold still, long enough to take a photo.
You are a whirlwind of boy'ish energy and everyday I wake up and you make sure
that I see just how much our family has changed since you came on to the stage.
We are blessed beyond what words can express,
and I am so lucky to be your mum.
From the smallest hatchling who looks up to you with the greatest admiration to your daddy who misses you like crazy especially on days like today, Happy birthday hatchling no4 we love you so much.
